Tolomeo Tavolo Mini Desk Lamp
The Tolomeo Tavolo Mini Desk Lamp has been created by Giancarlo Fassina and Massimo de Lucchi for the brand Artemide. Tolomeo is a wide-ranging collection of interior lamps characterised by pure forms, minimalist aesthetics, and total functionality. This entry in the popular series is named Tavolo, which is Italian for table. It will work well on coffee or side tables, but also succeeds as a light source for work desks.
The Tolomeo Tavolo Mini Desk Lamp has the cantilever form which is typical of Tolomeo lamps. In this case, the lamp's column has two sections with a hinge at the base, a middle hinge, and a rotary hinge to control the diffuser. This diffuser is formed into a cup shape and has an anodised aluminium finish, while polished aluminium is used in other parts of the lamp. A black lacquered version is also available if preferred.
Capable of a wide range of movements, the Tolomeo Tavolo Mini Desk Lamp is also compact, measuring 68cm wide and 54cm high. The round base has a diameter of 20cm, and the lamp comes with a 200cm long cable which contains the switch. The luminaire required a single bulb with the E27 socket.
