Le Soleil LED Suspension Lamp
The Le Soleil LED Suspension Lamp was created by Vincente Garcia Jimenez for the Italian Foscarini label. With its imaginative composition resembling a tower of plates, this unusual lamp marries creativity and design skill in a brilliant blend.
That shouldn't be a surprise with Jimenez in charge. Born in Spain but based in Udine, Italy, Jimenez was Spanish Elle Decor Designer of the Year in 2011, and he regularly receives Compasso d'Oro awards. He's not afraid to experiment, which is why he fits in so well with Foscarini's design ideals.
The Le Soleil LED Suspension Lamp features a series of polycarbonate discs which catch the eye even before the LEDs are turned on. When they are illuminated, the effect is magical. By aiming light both upwards and downwards, Le Soleil lamps create delicate shading on the various layers, giving the whole piece a unique look. At the same time, this Le Soleil lamp is highly practical. The diffuser measures 43 x 62 cm and hangs from a 363cm cable, which can be altered to suit various room heights. With energy efficient LEDs providing illumination, the result is an outstanding suspension lamp.
