Mite Floor Lamp
The Mite Floor Lamp has been created by Marc Sadler for the brand Foscarini. Its innovative design and functionality won its designer the ADI Compasso d'Oro Award in 2001. The lamp strikes a perfect balance between form and function.
The Mite Floor Lamp has a flute-shaped shade with a round opening at the top that tapers to a narrow lower body which is supported by a round base. It is made of a combination of fibreglass fabric with Kevlar or carbonium thread, nickel-plated metal and steel. It uses the same technology that is used to make oars, fishing rods and golf clubs. The lamp creates the illusion that it has inner parabolas or curves which appear to casts bands of light upwards towards the ceiling when the lamp is on. The intensity of the light that the lamp casts can be adjusted via a dimmer.
The Mite Floor Lamp has a height of 185cm and a diameter of 21cm. Its cable is 220cm. It is available in bright and neutral colours. The lamp uses an E27 socket and its light source has to be purchased separately. This lamp will stand tall and add timeless elegance and sophistication wherever it is placed.
