Caravaggio™ P1 Suspension Lamp Glossy
The Caravaggio™ P1 Suspension Lamp Glossy has been created by Cecilie Manz for the brand Fritz Hansen. Danish designer Manz has a signature look of minimalism that is in keeping with Nordic design tradition. However, within the minimalist design, there is always an unexpected detail that adds subtle, timeless elegance to her designs. The Caravaggio™ P1 Suspension Lamp Glossy exemplifies this. It has clean, uncluttered lines with a bell-shaped shade made of steel. It is finished in glossy paint which gives it a bold, contemporary look. It hangs from the ceiling using a suspension mechanism that is both functional and aesthetic. The mechanism is made of curved steel and die-cast, aluminum-zinc alloy that is chrome-plated. This contrasts strikingly with the lamp's glossy finish. There is also contrast between the steel struts and the colour of the textile cable. The lamp casts direct light downwards as well as upwards where an opening on the top of the shade illuminates the shade and the cord. The depth of the shade ensures that there is no glare regardless of how high the pendant is hung.
