N02™ Recycle Chair
The N02™ Recycle Chair has been created by Studio Nendo for the brand Fritz Hansen. With Japanese industrial designer Oki Sato at the helm, Studio Nendo has designed pieces for some of the biggest brands, including Fritz Hansen. One of the studio's best known designs is the N02™ Recycle Chair. This versatile chair is made of recycled plastic household waste that can be recycled again. The chair has the unexpected detail of a crease in the middle of the backrest. The inspiration for this detail came from the crease that is found on a folded piece of paper. Apart from working aesthetically, it also enhances support for the upper and lower back. The backrest has sides that are folded inwards so that it hugs the back. The folds also give it graceful curves, an aesthetic touch that the seat also has. The chair rests on a frame made of chromed steel. The legs, which have gliders, are angled outwards rather than being straight, thereby enhancing the chair's durability and stability. It also makes the chair stackable.
