Louis Ghost Armchair
The Louis Ghost Armchair has been created by Philippe Starck for the brand Kartell. One of the leading designers of the late 20th century, Starck specialises in whimsical plastic creations. Louis Ghost fits into this tradition, making clever use of Polycarbonate 2.0 to blend into the background - hence the name.
In terms of form, the Louis Ghost Armchair is conventional, with four legs, armrests and a back support. But the seat and armrests have been beautifully curved, combining effectively with the rounded back rest. And the use of Polycarbonate 2.0 also defines each line with perfect clarity, showing off attractive shadows and lines in the process. The materials are also environmentally friendly, having been derived from waste products in the paper industry - a neat fusion of ecology and sheer style.
The Louis Ghost Armchair measures 93cm high and the seat has a width of 54cm and a depth of 55cm. The armrests are positioned 67cm above the floor, while the seat height is a comfortable 47cm. And at 4.8kg, the chair should be light enough to move with ease.
