Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman Fabric
The Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman Fabric has been created by Ray & Charles Eames for the brand Vitra. This ensemble is part of an exquisite collection of seating furniture that has been manufactured using almost the same process since 1956. Inspired by the designs of classic English club chairs, the American designer couple aimed to create highly comfortable, spacious seating.
The Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman Fabric is suitable for the hotel lounge as well as the living room at home. The star bases made of polished aluminium are fitted with felt gliders. Both pieces of furniture are equipped with a central pedestal that allows a 360-degree rotation. At the same time, the grainy wood surface adds a natural flair. The generous padding and the pleasantly soft fabric covering promise a warm and cosy seating experience. High-quality molded plywood in walnut or cherry finish forms the shells of this extravagant ensemble, impressing with outwardly curved armrests and a separate headrest. Inspired by the receptive look of the baseball glove, the Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman Fabric was designed to be an improved, elegant version of the traditional, sturdy leather armchairs. Experimentation with materials and uncompromising craftsmanship resulted in an armchair that is as relevant today as it was almost 70 years ago when first introduced.
