The functional Eames Plastic Side Chair DSW Maple Black H43 was created by Charles and Ray Eames for Swiss manufacturer Vitra.
Vitra has been producing award-winning pieces since 1950. Charles and Ray Eames were a married couple that have made huge contributions to the architecture and furniture design fields. Together, they have won many awards including the Royal Gold Medal in 1979 for the Most Influential Designer of the 20th Century. The Eames Plastic Side Chair DSW Maple Black H43 was crafted by the couple as part of the Museum of Modern Arts' furniture competition and eventually became the first mass-produced, fully recyclable plastic chair.
The robust design consists of a structured polypropylene seat atop a steel frame reinforced with crossed struts. Because of the curved back of the chair, it ensures comfort even through long sessions of use, and it is durable enough to last years.
