J52G Rocking Chair with Armrests
The J52G Rocking Chair with Armrests has been created by Børge Mogensen for the brand FDB Møbler. While this design of a chair known as the Windsor chair originated in England in the 16th Century, it was arguably perfected in Denmark by a master designer and craftsman.
It was in 1952 that Mogenson reimagined the J52G Rocking Chair with Armrests into one that continues to stand the test of time. Made of FSC®-certified beech, it has a high, wide backrest. The backrest appears to be divided into two because of a rounded bar running across it. Apart from the bar, the upper and lower part are also joined by spindles. The chair also has a wide seat with armrests on either side that are formed by the rounded bar. The shell sits and rocks on a frame that is made of sled-style legs that allow comfortable rocking motion. A bar running across the legs forms a footrest.
The J52G Rocking Chair with Armrests has a width of 56.2cm, a height of 89.4cm and a depth of 73cm. Its seat height is 43cm. It comes in a selection of colours. Seat cushions for the chair are available for purchase separately.
