All Plastic Chair
The alluring All Plastic Chair was designed by Jasper Morrison for the label Vitra.
The designer Morrison works and lives in both Tokyo and London predominantly. His designs are his interpretation of the 'super normal' design philosophy, which basically states that rather than seeking unusual or extravagant results, he often improves proven solutions with further development, reinterpretation or refinement. He has worked with Vitra since 1989. Among his notable pieces is the classic All Plastic Chair.
The All Plastic Chair is a reminder of the classic wooden chairs but with a better appearance and functionality. The graceful piece combines great stability and utmost comfort; its backrest is connected to the frame with sturdy connectors that allow maximum flexibility in response to a sitter's movements, and it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The design of the simple and classic chair is intriguing; its frame is seemingly moulded from a single piece of polypropylene, while the thin seat surface is shaped organically. As a result, the classy All Plastic Chair is graceful and strikingly compact.
