Chisel Lounge Chair
The Chisel Lounge Chair has been created by Andreas Bergsake for the brand HAY. It is an innovative and unusual take on the classic chair. As its name suggests, it has a chiselled, sculptured look.
The Chisel Lounge Chair is made of solid oak or walnut and veneer. The wood is FSC®-certified and is finished with water-based lacquer. This puts it in the category of Sustainable Choice products. Its backrest has an upper edge that is curved with rounded corners while those at the sides are straight. Apart from its unique design, another detail that sets it apart is the fact that the backrest is slightly reclined backwards. Its seat has straight sides and a rounded outer edge. It is also downturned which makes the seat deep and that much more comfortable. The frame that supports the shell is just as intricate. It has wedge-shaped back legs with straight legs at the front. They are attached at an angle and have bevelled edges. The legs are cut thick and sturdy. Additional bars underneath the seat make the chair stronger and more stable.
The Chisel Lounge Chair has a width of 63cm, a height of 66cm and a depth of 68cm. Its seat height is 39cm. It is available in natural or dark-stained oak and in walnut.
