Monster Chair
The Monster Chair has been created by Marcel Wanders for the brand Moooi. It has an intriguing name and a design that justifies it. The designer was inspired by opposing forces in people that pull them towards good or evil.
The Monster Chair has a frame made of steel. It is padded with foam and topped with upholstery done with the brand's own black synthetic leather. It is treated to be fire retardant. Top stitching has been done to give the leather diamond shapes that add intrigue to the overall look of the chair. The backrest is mid-height and has an upper edge that is curved. It curves further inwards at the edges so that it cradles the back offering optimal support. These edges narrow in and give the backrest a T-shape. The back of the chair carries the monster theme with additions that add differently sized eyes and a mouth with teeth that grit together in a grimace.
The Monster Chair has a depth of 40cm, a width of 56cm and a height of 80cm. Its seat height is 50cm. It comes in dark neutral shades.
