172 Suspension Lamp
The Le Klint 172 Suspension lamp was designed by Poul Christiansen for the manufacturer Le Klint.
The Danish company was first created in approximately 1900 when the architect Peder Vilhelm Jensen-Klint designed a unique, pleated lampshade for a paraffin lamp. The invention was patented in 1938 with production commencing five years later. The family business expanded to worldwide acclaim and in 2003 was awarded the honour of Purveyors to the Royal Danish Court. The designer Poul Christiansen is a Danish architect, who's renowned for creating sculptural shapes with the use of mathematical curves.
The Le Klint 172 Suspension lamp has a playful flower design that's hand folded to create a unique lighting piece ideal for any room. Based on the original design from 1971, the soft waves give a delicate appearance but it is surprisingly sturdy and easy to clean. The plastic lamp has an adjustable cable to enable hanging at high and low levels, diffusing soft light without glare using a bulb with a maximum of 75W. It can be hung alone or arranged in a group for a pleasing, bold effect.
