Beat Floor Floor Lamp
This handsome Beat Floor Floor Lamp was designed by Tom Dixon for his British label Tom Dixon.
Tom Dixon was formed in 2002 with the goal of infusing new life into the British furniture industry by tapping into the country's unique heritage. The eponymous founder was born in Tunisia and rose to prominence as a designer in the 1980s, when he created such iconic items as the S-Chair for the Italian label Cappellini. In the 1990s, his renown increased as he released items such as the innovative Jack light, an illuminated seat made from polyethylene which he called his "sitting, stacking, lighting thing".
A member of the Beat family of lights, the Beat Floor Floor Lamp features articulating joints in both the head and arm. These allow the conical light shade to be positioned exactly as desired. Further ease of functionality is offered by a foot switch. Inspired by water and cooking pots used on the Indian subcontinent, the lamp is crafted from sturdy brass, and it features a cast iron base for stability. Measuring 59cm in width and with a height of 168cm, the Beat Floor Floor Lamp is a versatile lighting solution for all kinds of settings.
