Birdy Floor Lamp
The Birdy Floor Lamp has been created by Birger Dahl for the brand Northern. The late architect and industrial designer Dahl was highly acclaimed for his lighting designs. He is considered a pioneer of modern Nordic lighting. The Birdy Floor Lamp he designed in 1952 is one of his many iconic pieces that is still sought out today. In 1954 the lamp and the table version of it won the very prestigious Golden Medal at the Milan Triennale. The lamp has a long tubular stem made of lacquered steel. The stem is anchored in a round base. At the top of the stem is a short arm with a shade at the end. It resembles the beak of a bird, which is where the lamp gets its name. The re-issue by Northern comes with a head that can be adjusted so light can be cast right where it is needed.
The Birdy Floor Lamp has a height of 133cm and a depth of 67cm. Its cable is 200cm long and the on/off switch is located on it. It is available in four neutral or metallic finishes. The appropriate bulb with the E27 socket can be ordered under accessories.
