Lantern Floor Lamp
The Lantern Floor Lamp has been created by Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll for the brand New Works. The Norwegian design duo, who work under the name of Anderssen & Voll, seeks to implement elements of surprise and stimulation. They do this by including detailing that adds undeniable aesthetic appeal but only after optimal functionality has been guaranteed. This is clear to see in the Lantern Floor Lamp. It stands on a stem made of stainless steel that is finished with a black powder coating. The stem is supported by a circular base. At the top of the stem is a round diffuser made of frosted glass. The glass has the detail of ridges running across it that have a textured look and feel. The shape and design of the shade are inspired by traditional Chinese rice paper lanterns. The aim was to replicate the weightless glow of these lightweight lanterns.
The Lantern Floor Lamp has a height of 160cm and a diameter of 30cm, with a 180cm cable. The light that it casts all around is controlled by using a dimmer switch that is located on the cable. The appropriate lamp with the E27 socket can be ordered under accessories.
