The A110 Hand Grenade Suspension Lamp was designed by Alvar Aalto for the brand Artek .
The Finnish label Artek was launched by Alvar and Aino Aalto in 1935. It was founded on their passion for crafting in wood, a passion that is still part of the label's philosophy today. As well as working with talented contemporary designers, the label also recreates past design classics. As well as product design, Aalto created many iconic Finnish buildings. In recognition of his work, he was awarded the Finnish Royal Gold Medal.
The A110 Hand Grenade Suspension Lamp takes its name from its distinctive shape. A shape that works equally well with traditional or contemporary decor, whether hung individually or in rows or groups. It is particularly effective above bars, dining tables or kitchen islands. The lamp delivers a soft warm light that projects both upwards and downwards. At the same time, a perforated inner ring creates an attractive corona effect. The A110 Hand Grenade Suspension Lamp is available in black or white powder-coated steel with matching cords. It measures 44cm in height with an overall diameter of 16cm. The cable is 250cm in length.
