Original 1227 Wall Light
The classic Original 1227 Wall Light was designed by top English designer George Carwardine for Anglepoise, the renowned British lighting solutions label.
The family-owned label was established in 1855 as Herbert Terry and Sons Ltd., manufacturers of springs and presswork for the auto industry. Its trademark constant tension spring technology inspired Carwardine's design of the first four spring lamp in 1933. The reworked version of this lamp, the Classic Anglepoise Original 1227, became the model for many of the label's inspirational designs. The label gained international admiration for its production of unique, energy-efficient lighting solutions that are contemporary in design, yet also practical and highly functional.
