Altorfer Model 1143 Garden Stool
The Altorfer Model 1143 Garden Stool has been created by Huldreich Altorfer for the brand Embru. The designer has passed away but he lives on in the portfolio of unrivalled designs he created over the length of his career. Never one to conform to the conventional, he blazed trails and started trends rather than followed them. His self-named series of garden furniture that he designed in 1948 is still sought after today. This includes the Altorfer Model 1143 Garden Stool.
The stool has a frame made of steel tubes with PVC cables tied tightly around it to form the seat. The cables are tied close together on the seat and with a bit more space in between towards the edges which creates a firm seating spot and a subtle aesthetic detail. Gliders underneath the legs protect the surface.
The Altorfer Model 1143 Garden Stool has a length of 43cm, a width of 43cm and a height of 46cm. It has a seat height of 46cm. It is available in ash grey, dusky pink, traffic yellow, pine green, light blue, light green, traffic red, graphite black, wine red and traffic white.
