The carpet has irregular shapes achieved by a technique known as hand tufting. It uses a pistol-like tool to put holes in yarn that has been stretched in a frame. This method allows for curvilinear shapes to be formed at different pile heights and with different colours. It also makes for high-density and durable carpets. Pure New Zealand wool is used.
