Mexico City Carpet
The Mexico City Carpet has been created by Neal Peterson for the brand Moooi Carpets. The pattern on the design is inspired by sights the designer came across on his travels across the world. This one is inspired by the sights of Mexico City. Each memorable sight has been placed in a circle and the different circles form a mandala. This is a religious symbol beheld by Buddhists and Hindus that represents the universe and the ideal of peace and harmony in every part of it.
The sights of Mexico come alive on the Mexico City Carpet thanks to 3D printing on the polyamide. Made of polymers, this manufactured fabric is the strongest type of nylon which guarantees very durable carpets. Another reason that this fabric is favoured for making carpets is that it replicates images with very high clarity. The crisp quality is achieved through 3D printing that is done digitally. A Chromojet printer is used for its exceptionally high resolution that outputs images with vivid detail.
The Mexico City Carpet is available in small and large sizes. The smaller one has a diameter of 250cm while the larger one has a diameter of 350cm.
