This gorgeous Mélange Pattern 4/5 Kilim Carpet Runner was designed by Sybilla for the Spanish manufacturer Nanimarquina.
Since its establishment in Barcelona in 1987, Nanimarquina has developed in a world-renowned designer and maker of carpets distinguished by their luminous colors and sophisticated patterns. While handling much of the design work herself in her native Spain, owner Nani Marquina also collaborates with leading artists such as Javier Mariscal, Tord Boontje and Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. For authenticity, all production is outsourced to countries such as India, Nepal and Pakistan where artisans still weave carpets using millennia-old techniques.
A striking example of the modern reinvention of traditional carpet making, the Mélange Pattern 4/5 Kilim Carpet Runner is distinguished by its combination of eye-catching geometric design and rich and subtle colour palette. Fashioned from the finest 100% hand-spun Afghan wool, the carpet measures 240cm in length with a width of 80cm. Fibre height is 4mm and knot density is 156,000 per square meter. The Mélange Pattern 4/5 Kilim Carpet Runner will bring a rich sense of tradition, style and comfort to any home either singly or by combing rugs to create a dazzling patchwork effect.
