The rug derives its name from the Finnish word 'varjo', which means 'shadows'. It is so-called because of the rug's woven texture creating subtle shadow effects in between the layers of the weave. The rug has a minimalist pattern that is inspired by the herringbone configuration found in old hardwood floors. It also has monochromatic colour blocking which makes it ideal for use in a room with any kind of furniture or decor theme. It is made from hand-dyed, high quality, pure New Zealand lamb's wool. The weaving is also done by hand.
