Amsterdam Carpet
The Amsterdam Carpet has been created by Neal Peterson for the brand Moooi Carpets. The carpet's designer was inspired by the scenes and sights he encountered while trotting the globe.
The Amsterdam Carpet has the look of a mandala. This is a Hindu and Buddhist symbol that represents the universe. The carpet has circles that display the different items he found while travelling through the city.
The image on the carpet looks alive and vibrant thanks to the fabric it is printed on. It is made of a manmade fabric known as polyamide which is the most resilient type of nylon making carpets that are made of it very durable. This fabric can also take ink exceptionally well which enhances the crisp quality of images printed on it. Printing is done via a printer that can be programmed digitally. The inkjets are set to inject ink in very precise tones exactly where it is needed in the fabric. It has exceptionally high resolution which outputs images that are rich in tone and sharp in contrast.
The Amsterdam Carpet c omes in a smaller size that has a diameter of 250cm and a larger one that has a diameter of 350cm. It is available in multi-colour.
