Karnak Chair
The Karnak Chair was designed by Ferdinand Kramer for the brand e15.
He passed away in 1985 but Kramer lives on in the architecture and furniture designs he left behind. All his designs characterise exceptional craftsmanship, functionality and balance. Some have been displayed at the Die Wohnung exhibition in Stuttgart.
The Karnak Chair is part of the Ferdinand Kramer Collection organised by the late designer's family and e15. It was designed in 1925, displays Kramer's vision and was a bold step towards contemporary design. The chair won the Architectural Digest Design of the Year in 2015. It comes in solid waxed European oak or walnut. Its profile has been reduced to the bare minimum. It has a graceful, curved backrest and a handwoven seat that is very comfortable. Tanned leather or a textile band is used to finish the woven seat, giving it a luxurious softness. A steel frame ensures stability and durability. The Karnak Chair cannot be stacked. It has dimensions of 490 x 525 x 800 mm. This chair carries a rich history and will beautifully blend in with other existing furniture at the dining table or if placed in the hall or entryway.
