Merkur Dining Chair
The Merkur Dining Chair has been created by Petter Skogstad and Fredrik Wærnes of Skogstad & Wærnes Studio for the brand Audo. It was initially designed for use in the Oslo Stock Exchange. It therefore aptly named Merkur after the Roman god of trade.
The Merkur Dining Chair is made of solid oak and plywood. It has a backrest made of a rounded bar that is curved inwards so it hugs the back. It has a slab in the middle that supports the length of the back. The seat is generously sized and curved. It is also slightly upturned around the edges. The frame that supports the shell is made of rounded bars that resemble spindles. It has gliders underneath.
The Merkur Dining Chair has a width of 46cm, a height of 78cm and a depth of 52cm. It is available in natural and dark-stained oak. It can be stacked for convenient storage. This timeless chair which is a winning display of Nordic design traditions is suitable for use both in homes and commercial spaces. Apart from dining and kitchen tables, it can be used in waiting rooms, hotel rooms, restaurants and other hospitality establishments.
