Mite LED Lamp
The Mite LED Lamp has been created by Marc Sadler for the brand Foscarini. It is unexampled in its form and functionality. It caught the eye of critics too who awarded the patented lamp the ADI Compasso d'Oro Award in 2001.
The Mite LED Lamp is made of a combination of fibreglass and carbon thread. The two make for a material that is both aesthetic and durable. The lamp has a shape that resembles that of a wine glass but with larger dimensions. It has a round opening and body at the top that tapers to form a narrow, cylinder-shaped lower end. It is anchored by a round nickel-plated base. When it is turned on, the lamp creates the illusion of inner parabolas or curves of light that project upwards towards the ceiling. This is enabled by built-in LED light sources. Apart from being energy-efficient, these light sources are also convenient because they have a lifespan of at least 50,000 hours. The lamp can be dimmed via an in-line dimmer.
The Mite LED Lamp has a height of 185cm and a diameter of 21cm. Its cable is 220cm long. It is available in a bright or neutral colour. Both colours of replacement shades are available for purchase separately.
