Nestor Chair
The Nestor Chair has been created by Tom Stepp for the brand Mater. Danish architect and industrial designer Stepp strives to create designs that will be inspiring and that a user will appreciate. He starts by putting himself in a user's shoes to understand what they would want and need in a product. With this approach, he creates pieces that are practical, optimally functional and aesthetically pleasing. The Nestor Chair exemplifies this. It stands out with its unique design and the materials from which it is made, which are all inspired by classic shaker traditions. It has a short backrest and frame that are made of FSC®®certified oak or beech wood. The seat is made of paper cord that is woven by hand. The paper cord is also FSC®®certified and biodegradable. The roll pin legs contrast with the armrests and footrests that are made of blocks. The chair is finished with a water-based lacquer which is eco-friendly due to its low VOC content.
The Nestor Chair has a width of 57cm, a height of 76cm and a depth of 53cm. It has a seat height of 44cm and an armrest height of 68cm. It is available in matte lacquered oak, sirka grey beech base with a natural-coloured seat and black stained beech.
