Officina Chair Frame Black
The Officina Chair Frame Black was designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for the manufacturer Magis.
Since it was first established in 1976, this company has been at the forefront of Italian interior décor, with numerous award-winning products to its credit. Headquartered in Paris, brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have collaborated together closely for over 20 years. Although usually quite modest and understated in appearance, their domestic wares and furniture have been displayed by MoMA New York and many other prestigious museums and galleries around the world.
Very much in line with the brothers' general aesthetic, the Officina Chair Frame Black is 80cm in height and 58cm in width. It consists of a backrest and seat, each made from a single piece of curved polypropylene and mounted on a framework of powder-coated wrought iron. As is often the case with the brothers' work, the look is crisply contemporary, yet nodding backwards to vintage French metal café furniture. Its self-effacing, minimalist design and neutral monochrome finish makes the Officina Chair Frame Black a versatile choice for a wide range of modern settings, from kitchens and domestic study areas to offices and libraries.
