Ripple Ring LED Suspension Lamp
The Ripple Ring LED Suspension Lamp has been created by the BIG Bjarke Ingels Group for the brand Artemide. Aesthetically simple but technically advanced, the Ripple Ring showcases BIG's ability to mix creativity and cutting edge techniques.
The Ripple Ring LED Suspension Lamp has a circular diffuser made from heat-conducting moulded technopolymer which dissipates heat, allowing the use of high-power bright-white LEDs. The lamp therefore sheds a powerful light despite its slender profile, and can be used on its own. However, arrays of Ripple Ring lamps can also be an effective way to light larger spaces.
The shade of the Ripple Ring LED Suspension Lamp comes in two sizes: a smaller variant with a 50cm diameter and a larger version with a 70cm diameter. Both have a height of just 3cm, while they connect to the 20.5cm diameter ceiling canopy via four 165cm long suspension cables. Multiple Rings can be added to the canopy if desired, a system which combines with the architecture of the diffuser to absorb sound. That way, the lamp can reduce glare and enhance the acoustic properties of rooms as well. Finally, the lamp is DALI dimmable and comes with a highly efficient LED bulb which is fixed inside the luminaire.
