Wanders is one of the most colourful designers of the modern age. Born in 1963 in Boxtel, the Netherlands, he excelled at the Arnhem Institute of the Arts. The Knotted Chair, which he created in 1996, has become a design icon, while larger projects, such as his Mondrian Hotel in Florida, have won international acclaim. His list of awards is remarkable, as is his client list, with leading brands including Alessi, Rosenthal, Philips, Habitat and Swarovski. Described as a revolutionary, he was also dubbed the "Lady Gaga of Design" by the New York Times. Wanders co-founded Moooi in Amsterdam to create furniture that mixes minimalism with fantasy and embraces the old as well as the new.
The Set Up Shades 5 Floor Lamp demonstrates this blend of simplicity and complexity to provide a stunning lighting effect. Five lamp shades made from PVC and cotton laminate sit vertically on a steel frame, allowing the soft, warm light to cascade into the living space. The lamp is available in two larger sizes that can be combined as an eye-catching feature in any room.
